Palestine vs Israel war

Hi again.

I normally only write about happy and positive things, because that's what I aim to be, but this cannot go on silence here anymore. I need to talk about the war currently going on.

Actually, it's not only a war. It's a genocide, a massacre, something that should not be happening and something that should DEFINITELY not be under silence like that??

I've barely seen any media coverage about that, and for YEARS. I learned about what was happening when they officially declared war, and I then had to seek informations, because no one wanted to talk about it. No one wanted it covered.

I'll do a summary if you don't know what's happening or are not sure you understand. I want to apologize first if I'm incorrect, and please correct me if I am, and if I use the wrong words too, since English isn'T my first langage.

Palestine and Israel has been fighting over a territory for a bunch of years. Both countries claim this religious land, saying it's theirs, and have been fighting to get it. This has been going on for years, with mainly Israel persecuting Palestine, but no one was talking about it. But recently, about two weeks ago, a terrorist group from Palestine decided to fight back and attack Israel. This caused Israel to officially declaring the evergoing conflict a war, and the whole world to then start taking sides. I want to state that the attacks from Israel comes from the official government of the country, while the attacks from Palestine comes from a terrorist group, independant from the governement.

After the official war declaration, the thing caught on fire in the medias and people started taking sides, while also be sexist, racist, and bashing on religions wihtout real justifications. It was a freak show, everyone was talking about it and giving their opinion while also not actually knowing what was going on.

It slowly became obvious that the world was siding with Israel. Many celebrities and public figures resposted pro israel content on their social medias, while also making it clear they were against Palestine. I've seen only a few people show their support for Palestine or be neutral. Countries also started taking Israel's side, helping them with the war, providing things they needed, publicly defending them, etc.

The medias also started to cover the newly declared war, way more than they were covering the conflict before. Since the war has been declared because of the attack of the palestinian terrorist group, media had made them out to be a vilain and horrible. While yes, taking lives and killing innocents should never happen, medias purposely left out that Israel has been doing the same thing for years. I saw a tweet explaining it in a short way (I don't remember the author): It's like if you were getting bullied and bullied and getting your lunch stolen and it has been going on like that for years, and that one day, you decide to defend yourself and steal your bully's lunch, but then the whole school, including staff, turned against you because you were mean. I think it was a great way to explain it.

So since the official war announcement, the attacks between the two countries has become more and more close, and violent. Medias are still making it out for Palestine to be the vilain, while Israel is bombing Palestine and making a genocide of it. I've seen videosa of beheaded babies, burning cities, children without parents anymore. Israel is comitting war crimes, and no one is taking them accountable. The wholw world is watching while a genocide is happening, and doing nothing to end it, because Israel is supposed to be right.

What reminded me that I needed to write about this war is the news that came out today. First of all, Palestine no longer has water, electricity, food, wifi, or literally anything. Israel has cut them from the world, not being able to seek for help or share their reality, because this right got taken away from them. But the worst thing is the protection of civilians and upholding legal and humanitarian obligations law that got adopted today. 120 countries were in favor, while 14 were against and 45 abstained. That is good news, but the fact that 60 countries do not want to help Palestine is horrible. Voting AGAINST it is even worse. And when I saw that Canada voted against that, my heart sank. I do not stand for that and I do not stand with Canada right now.

The fact that Palestine is getting bombed, destroyed, demolished, annihilated, that they are going through a massacre and genocide, and that they have to know on top of that that some countries are FOR what's happening to them right now, is horrible. How can you see what's happening and not bat an eye? Or worse, help it happen?

I am begging you all to educated yourself on what's happening, and do what you can to help. I know that as a normal civilian we feel like we have no power and cannot help, but here are some ways you can help:

- Educate yourself. Go read about what's happening, check news daily, and don't forget that medias are corrupt a lot of the time. Check for actual facts, double check the sources, do not fall into propaganda.

- Educate others. Share everything on social medias, explain it to your close ones, and make it known of what's happening. Talk about it. Do not stay silent.

- Donate if you can. I'm not saying to go in debts for the cause, but if you have the means, please donate to help Palestine and make it right.

- Boycott. There's a list of companies who stood with Israel or did even worse things than just comment. You can search for the whole list, but two of biggest ones to boycott right now are McDonalds anmd Starbucks. Both have promotions right now because they've seen what happening and they're seing a fall in their profit, so they're trying to lure people back in. Don't. Boycot and stand for what is right.

There is obviously more ways you can help, but I feel like this is what to focus on mainly. Again, I strongly invite you to research for yourself. Don't use the excuse that you don't want to speak on what's going on if you don't even try to understand what is happening. I've made this post to help people, and now it's your turn. Stand on the right side of history. Stand with Palestine.

Even if they can't see this, I'm sending all my love and good vibes to palestinians, and I hope for an end to this soon. I am devastated by what's happening. Stand strong, we stand with you.

With love,

Sarah
